Europe: A new contribution to EENA operations by Beta 80 Group

Beta 80 Group, 29th of October, 2014

Beta 80 Group worked side by side with EENA (the European Emergency Number Association – 112) to the new version of the eCall* specifications document, coming from the HeERO project, which addresses the deployment of the pan-European in-vehicle emergency call service eCall based on the European Emergency number 112.

*The eCall system, once installed on the vehicles, will be able to automatically generate an emergency call (112) to the closest rescue center. The eCall box is equipped with a GPS module which is able to immediately locate the vehicle and a SIM card to call 112. eCalls can also be manually initiated.
